The idea behind kaBoks is my ingrained resentment of being put in a box. To me the whole idea of labeling creativity defeats the concept of being creative. When I started doing digital design I wanted to sell in a store that had this idea as a basis of their work, and instead of spending hours searching for my right fit I decided to open a store myself. kaBoks is the result of this. It is a place to embrace creativity, to explore and to develop both as a designer and as a crafter.
This is reflected by the rules, or lack thereof, that our designers create by. It is reflected by the way we try our best to make our products hybrid friendly by including files that are easy to print, svg files for cutting and by having a creative team that encompass all types of scrapbooking and other paper crafts.
We want to break down the lines between the different types of scrapbooking. Anything is allowed. kaBoks will be a store that will create a bridge between traditional and digital scrapbooking. We also want to offer a wide range of products that will target different religions, ethnicities and languages.
Behind kaBoks are two people. It is me, Siri, and my brother Oddbjørn. We grew up on a tiny island on the west coast of Norway. Even though we had a few year of the typical big sister/little brother issues, we have always known that we would end up working together. We started cooking together as soon as Oddbjørn could hold a knife (He was 2 or 3), and we were going to open a restaurant together. Even though this is not a restaurant, it is still something we have created together. We're a great team, me being the detail oriented perfectionist and Oddbjørn being the big picture - get a grip voice.
